Warranty & Guarantee
All steel roofing sheets, wall cladding and flashings manufactured by Coated Steel Products Ltd are covered by our guarantee. The guarantee period depends on the coating applied to your sheets. This page outlines the full terms and conditions of our guarantee for all coating types.
Guarantee Periods by Coating

| Plastisol (200 micron) | Up to 25 years |
| Polyester Powder Coat (PPC) | Up to 25 years |
| Polyester (25 micron) | Up to 15 years |
| Galvanised | Up to 10 years |
Guarantee periods are subject to correct installation, building location and environmental conditions. Coastal, industrial and heavily polluted environments may reduce the effective guarantee period. See Building Location & Environment below.
Guarantee Cover
1. This guarantee covers coated steel materials supplied by Coated Steel Products Ltd (“CSP”) to the customer for use as steel cladding in roof and wall applications.
2. CSP guarantees that the coating on aluminium, hot-dipped galvanised steel, or equivalent zinc-aluminium coated substrates, used in Great Britain, Ireland and Northern Europe, will meet the performance levels outlined in the published time scales for the relevant coating type.
3. CSP guarantees paint film adhesion until the first full repainting is required, as specified in the guarantee period table above.
4. For Plastisol coated products, there will be no corrosion or de-lamination exceeding 10mm along 10% of the total cut edges for up to 10 years.
5. The Plastisol coating is classified into light or dark colour groups based on performance, with no guarantee reduction due to pitch or orientation.
6. If the product fails to meet these standards, CSP will restore the affected materials per the terms herein. The guarantee starts on the delivery date to the customer.
7. Flashings are covered for the same duration as the orientation of their colour group.
Guarantee Conditions
The following conditions apply to all coating types:
1. The guarantee is issued to the building owner, who must register it with CSP within 30 days of work completion for validity.
2. If building ownership changes, the guarantee transfers to the new owner, but the new owner must notify CSP of the new details within 30 days of the transfer.
3. The guarantee requires the owner to perform regular maintenance and inspection works.
4. The guarantee holder must notify CSP within 30 days of discovering any defect indicating the material will fail to meet performance criteria, before 10% of any plane’s paint surface is affected. CSP or its agents must be allowed to inspect the defect, and notification must include details for traceability of the materials.
5. Claims not notified in writing within this period are invalid.
6. The material must not be exposed to continuous temperatures above 60°C.
7. Forming, cutting, transportation, storage and installation of roofing sheets or panels must follow good practice standards.
8. The guarantee starts on material delivery to the customer. Storage before use must not exceed one month, during which the product must be kept dry and unexposed to weather or moisture.
9. The guarantee is governed by English Law, with exclusive jurisdiction in English courts.
10. All goods must be paid for in full.
Guarantee Limitations
1. The guarantee applies only to the weather side of the coating. Corrosion and defects arising from pollutants trapped within overlaps, abnormal atmospheric pollution, or contact with aggressive fumes or chemicals are excluded.
2. The guarantee is not valid for any sheets that have been over-painted or have had touch-up paint applied.
3. CSP’s obligation under the guarantee is limited exclusively to the costs of labour and material (including the cost of any hire of equipment previously agreed by CSP) to restore the defective material so that it meets its original guarantee period. It will be at CSP’s sole discretion to determine the appropriate measures required for suitable restoration. Any other direct, indirect or consequential losses are excluded.
4. For Plastisol coated products, limited edge peel is normal under climatic conditions such as acid rain or similar pollutants. If more than 10% is peeled off in a minimum 10% of the length of the sheet edges, then a repair service will be undertaken by CSP and a ten-year guarantee issued against this repair work. If such notification is not made as soon as the peeling becomes evident, the claim will be considered invalid.
5. This guarantee will apply in preference to, and to the exclusion of, all other warranties or guarantees in respect of CSP’s product guarantee.
Building Location & Environment
The environment in which your building is located has a significant impact on the guarantee period and the lifespan of the coating. Buildings are classified as either Inland or Coastal (within 1km of the sea). The building location and colour group will determine the specific guarantee period issued.
If your building is in a coastal or exposed environment, please inform us at the time of ordering so we can advise on the most suitable material and confirm the applicable guarantee period.
